Role Profile
A thriving manufacturing / engineering company in Stockport is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join its established team.
This is a newly created position due to company growth and will give you the chance to play a key role in ensuring product and process quality whilst supporting continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
If you are a technically strong and detail-oriented Quality professional with a background in mechanical engineering, this could be 'the one' for you!
What will the role involve?
1. Leading quality activities across manufacturing operations including conducting quality audits
2. Managing customer complaints, warranties and non-conformances
3. Supporting supplier quality management, including corrective actions, supplier evaluation and supplier audits
4. Maintaining documentation within the Integrated Management System (IMS) and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
5. Collaborating with technical teams to resolve product and process quality issues
6. Generating KPIs and management reports to analyse trends and drive quality improvements
7. Delivering quality awareness and training sessions for colleagues across the business
8. Utilising root cause analysis methods such as 8D, Ishikawa and 5 Why
Ideal Skills & Experience:
9. Demonstrable experience in a previous Quality Engineer role within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment
10. Strong technical knowledge with an apprenticeship, HNC or degree in Mechanical Engineering and good ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
11. Good understanding of inspection techniques, standards and specifications
12. Experience investigating and resolving non-conformances and quality issues with good knowledge of tools such as 8D, RCA, Ishikawa and 5 Why
13. Proven track record managing customer complaints and warranty cases
14. Previous experience working with suppliers and supplier quality processes
15. Knowledge of integrated management systems (. ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001) with Lead Auditor Status being advantageous
