Join Our Team as a Drainage and Water Design Team Leader!

Your Role and Responsibilities
As our Drainage and Water Design Team Leader, you will:
* Lead a talented Transportation Drainage & Water team, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery of high-quality work packages.
* Support and implement process improvements and efficiency initiatives, while encouraging technical innovation in highway drainage and flood risk management.
* Act as the technical lead for assigned work packages, ensuring compliance with DM RB, LLFA, and local authority standards.
* Plan, price, and deliver work packages under Option C/E design contracts, proactively managing risks and ensuring realistic budgets.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Local Authorities, LLFAs, National Highways, and utilities, ensuring clear communication and adherence to client processes.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you have:
* Proven experience leading and developing design teams (7–14 members), with a strong ability to manage programmes, budgets, and risks.
* Experience managing clients and stakeholders, including Local Authorities and utilities, with a track record of positive outcomes.
* Demonstrated delivery of high-quality, compliant highway drainage and flood risk solutions.
* Practical knowledge of DMRB, LLFA requirements, and local authority standards.
* Knowledge of SUDS, Planning Policy, and Building Regulations, along with a full driving license and willingness to travel as needed.
Working Conditions
Location: Salford (with remote working options available, plus occasional travel to the office).
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (flexibility on hours is available—just let us know when you speak to us).
