About the Role
A specialist further education setting in Coventry is seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support learners with a wide range of additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people develop independence,munication skills, and confidence in a supportive, inclusive environment.
You’ll be working with learners aged 16–25 who have diverse needs, including physical disabilities, autism,munication challenges, andplex learning difficulties. The setting offers strong staff support, ongoing training, and clear progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 and small‑group support across vocational and academic sessions
2. Assist learners withmunication, mobility, independence, and personal development
3. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support teams
4. Promote a positive, inclusive, and empowering learning environment
5. Support behaviour using calm, consistent, person-centred approaches.
6. Help learners work towards personalised goals and oues
What you'll need to succeed
7. Experience supporting young people or adults with additional needs (education, care, youth work, or similar)
8. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
9. Strongmunication and teamwork skills
10. A genuine passion for supporting learners with SEND
11. Willingness to undertake training and develop specialist skills
