We are seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Manager to lead a team of finance professionals in delivering high-quality financial services across a diverse and complex organisation. This is a pivotal role in ensuring robust financial management, statutory compliance, and value for money across a range of service areas.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead, develop, and motivate a dedicated finance team, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders to improve financial management processes. You will oversee departmental accounts closure, provide professional challenge and advice to budget holders, and ensure that financial requirements are met in line with statutory guidance and best practice.
You will play a key role in:
* Delivering accurate financial forecasting, reporting, and risk management.
* Developing policies, procedures, and training to support financial excellence.
* Leading process improvements to enhance efficiency and value for money.
* Managing grant claims, statutory returns, and external reporting.
* Supporting system implementation to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
About You
You will bring strong leadership skills, proven financial expertise, and the ability to translate complex financial information for diverse audiences. You are confident in challenging and influencing stakeholders, driving change, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
* AAT Level 4 or equivalent (or full CCAB/CIMA qualification).
* Experience in managing finance teams and delivering high-quality financial services.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to link financial and performance data.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of public sector accounting principles and statutory requirements.
* Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
