The Role

The post holder will work under the supervision of registered therapy staff to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals and undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service. The post holder will Implement, adapt and progress treatment programmes within agreed protocols and defined parameters, use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes across a variety of clinical settings and discharge or transition care within agreed protocols and defined parameters.

Duties may vary depending on the care group / department or assigned area of work.

What we'll need you to bring

Qualifications and Experience

1. HNC in healthcare, education or social cares or SVQ III in healthcare, education or social care or equivalent experience in a health, education or social care environment.
2. Short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.
3. Full driving licence holder.

Knowledge and Skills

4. Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
5. Knowledge of the therapeutic process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
6. Basic assessment skills.
7. Ability to apply a range of technical and practical rehabilitation skills.
8. Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Time management, planning and organisational skills.
10. Working knowledge of basic information technology.
11. Ability to work individually, or as part of a team
12. Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
13. Car Driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA
14. Available to participate on-call-rota – work pattern 5/7

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

Contract type

Fixed Term or Secondment until March 2026

Full time

37 hours

Please note this is a fixed term post until March 2026. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location

This role will be based in Hospital at Home within NHS Lanarkshire
