Housing Support Worker – Outreach

Are you passionate about making a difference in people’s lives? Join our dedicated team in Edinburgh as an Outreach Housing Support Worker, where you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals transition from temporary accommodation into permanent housing and independent living.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Deliver person-centred support using a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) approach.
* Plan and lead key work sessions to develop and review tailored support plans.
* Help individuals build essential life skills – from budgeting and shopping to cooking and maintaining a home.
* Provide guidance on housing options, welfare benefits, and community resources.
* Maintain professional boundaries and develop safety plans for those you support.
* Advocate for individuals and assist with administrative tasks like housing benefit applications.
* Keep accurate, high-quality records and case notes.
What We’re Looking For
* SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it).
* Strong communication and time management skills.
* Experience managing a caseload and meeting deadlines.
* Knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation and policy.
* Confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems.
* Skilled in de-escalating conflict and maintaining clear records.
* Awareness of First Aid, mental health, substance use, and trauma-informed care.

This role is primarily Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, based at a local community project with outreach work in the surrounding area. Travel expenses are covered for appointments during your shift.
