Rochester Independent College is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic person to play an active role in our Maintenance Team.
Personal Specifications:
Essential
* General construction experience
* Good painting and decorating skills
* Be a good team player but also have the ability to work independently
* Have a flexible approach to working hours, and understand that it may be necessary to work outside of your usual hours
Desirable
* Basic plumbing skills
* Basic carpentry skills
* Basic electrical skills (competent in changing sockets etc.)
Key Accountabilities:
* Ensure the security, maintenance and availability of the buildings, furniture, fittings and equipment, providing a satisfactory physical environment and promoting the efficient use of the college's assets
* Identify, document and report maintenance and repair work
General:
* Attend weekly meetings with the maintenance team
* Ensure all tasks/projects are conducted in line with the college's Health & Safety protocols
* Ensure that the college site is clean and tidy as much as is practicable during and after completion of all works
* General porterage of deliveries or furniture moving
* Any other duties as required
Holidays:
35 days holiday to be taken during the Christmas lockdown and other times with the agreement of the Facilities Manager
