EcoCoach Educator (Senior Role)

This is not a standard coaching job.
EcoCoach Educators are not session fillers.
They are trusted professionals who hold standards, think systemically, and put the child with the greatest need first.
If you're an experienced sports coach, teaching assistant, or teacher who wants more responsibility, more depth, and a clearer pathway into leadership, this role is designed for you.
The Role at a Glance
* Daily afternoon PE delivery at a primary school site (term time)
* After-school clubs and enrichment provision
* Additional hours across Alternative Provision (AP), home education, and wraparound care
* Opportunity to lead holiday camps during school breaks
* Optional admin / operational hours for those looking to step into management-level responsibility
This is a senior educator role within EcoCoach — you'll be expected to lead by example, not just deliver sessions.
Hours & Structure
* Term time delivery:
Approx. 20 hours per week, primarily afternoons on one school site, plus clubs and additional sessions
* Non-term time:
Opportunity to lead EcoCoach holiday camps
* Admin & operational hours:
Planning, registers, resource preparation, reporting, QA support
* Typical weekly hours:
Around 30 hours per week across delivery and leadership tasks
(may vary slightly depending on provision mix)
Pay (PAYE, paid monthly)
* £14–£16/hr – Curriculum PE delivery
* £13–£14/hr – Clubs & enrichment
* £11–£12/hr – Admin, planning & operational support

What You'll Be Responsible For
As an EcoCoach Educator (Senior Role), you will:
* Deliver high-quality, inclusive PE each afternoon using EcoCoach schemes of work
* Adapt sessions confidently for SEND, SEMH, and diverse needs
* Lead after-school clubs that are structured, engaging, and purposeful
* Take ownership of operational quality (registers, reporting, resources, communication)
* Contribute to Alternative Provision and home-ed delivery, working flexibly and thoughtfully
* Support and mentor junior staff (including apprentices and trainee coaches)
* Lead holiday camps, including delivery and on-site organisation
* Uphold safeguarding, professionalism, and child-first standards at all times
This role requires judgement, initiative, and maturity.
Who This Role Is ForEssential
* Significant experience delivering PE, sport, or physical activity to children
* Strong behaviour management and safeguarding awareness
* Confidence adapting provision for SEND and complex needs
* Organised, reliable, and professional
* Willing to be held to high standards
* Relevant coaching or education qualification (e.g. Level 2+ sports coaching, TA, or teaching background)
Desirable
* Experience mentoring or supporting other staff
* Interest in child-led or Play Their Way approaches
* Experience (or interest) in Alternative Provision or home education
* Forest School or outdoor learning experience (or willingness to train)
* Ambition to move into leadership or quality assurance roles
