Offer description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, dynamic, and committed qualified mental health nurses to work in the Psychiatric Liaison Team (PLT) based at NSECH hospital in Cramlington, within the adult pathway.

We are seeking to appoint highly motivated Band 6 staff within the adult psychiatry pathway as part of our 24/7 service.

This role is varied and fast-paced, involving work in Accident and Emergency (A&E) departments and in-patient wards across NSECH and other sites.

The NSECH PLT is a 24-hour service providing timely, high-quality assessments, mental health interventions, and onward signposting for patient management, especially for those presenting with self-harm or co-morbid physical and mental health needs in hospital settings.

In partnership with colleagues and other professionals, you will manage the interface with patients' physical health needs, ensuring they are placed on the most appropriate care pathway to achieve optimal outcomes. The role involves shift work, including bank holidays and night shifts.

Facilities include a gym and a health and wellbeing hub. Staff undertake comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, risk and safety planning, and may deliver brief psychological interventions during liaison activities. You will liaise with the care team, family, carers, and other services, working closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team.

We are committed to attracting a diverse, talented, and compassionate workforce that reflects the community we serve. We offer a dynamic environment with opportunities for career development, flexible working arrangements, and a range of staff benefits including lease cars, childcare schemes, staff discounts, travel season tickets, and cycle-to-work schemes.

Our staff networks include cultural diversity, disabled staff, and LGBT+ groups, alongside support groups such as Armed Forces and Veterans, Mind, Menopause, and Carer support.

We provide excellent personal development opportunities through our Collective Leadership Programme and other initiatives. Join us to be part of an outstanding organization committed to continuous improvement, as rated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Please note that external applicants are required to fund their own DBS checks, with costs deducted from the first salary payment.
