Responsibilities and duties of the Lead EC and I Technician role
Reporting to the EC and I Engineer, you will:
Provide technical and day-to-day leadership across all electrical, control and instrumentation maintenance activities on site
Ensure EC and I works are planned and delivered in line with corporate, legislative and safety standards
Lead the EC and I maintenance team and coordinate third-party contractors to ensure safe and timely task delivery
Support fault finding, investigation and resolution of plant issues in collaboration with operations and engineering teams
Plan and schedule maintenance activities through the site CMMS, ensuring accurate reporting and continuous improvement
Coordinate EC and I input into projects, outages and plant modifications, including effective handover into operations
Support compliance activities including audits, inspections and KPI reporting
Contribute to the maintenance of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation
Provide out of hours and emergency call-out support as part of the site rota
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Time served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
IOSH Managing Safely qualification
Experience working in power generation, energy from waste or a continuous high-hazard process environment
Strong knowledge of HV and LV systems, control systems, instrumentation and distributed control systems
Experience supervising technicians and managing contractor activities
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs
Working knowledge of permit to work systems and safe systems of work
Experience using a computerised maintenance management system
