What you’ll bring: You’re a commercial professional with strong experience working in regulated environments and a passion for delivering value on major infrastructure projects. Commercial & Quantity Surveying Expertise – Degree‑qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, with proven experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial roles within utilities, infrastructure or construction environments. NEC Contract Knowledge – Strong expertise in NEC3 / NEC4, ECC / PSC forms of contract, particularly Options A, C and E, with confidence managing contract administration, cost assurance, forecasting and change control in line with governance requirements. Financial & Systems Capability – Proficient in financial and commercial systems, including contract management, procurement and cost engineering tools, with the ability to produce detailed cost reports and forecasts to support proactive, informed decision‑making. Stakeholder & Supplier Management – Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of change under NEC Terms & Conditions while maintaining strong internal and external relationships. Collaborative Mindset – A positive attitude and strong team‑working ethic, with a collaborative approach to problem solving, critical thinking and continuous improvement. Customer Focus – A genuine care for the customer, recognising the responsibility that comes with owning and operating the UK’s largest gas distribution network, where customer satisfaction underpins every decision.
