Are you looking for a new challenge where you can provide remarkable care and service? We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic, supportive and forward-thinking Staffordshire Adult Safeguarding Team (SAST) based within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Staffordshire.
Our team receive all adult safeguarding concerns that occur within Staffordshire and we have a responsibility for determining the next steps with the support from our partner agencies under Section 42 of the Care Act (2014). Those decisions that meet the Local Authority’s duties to make enquiries are then passed to relevant teams to complete further enquiries. Those decisions that do not reach Statutory threshold are effectively signposted to other agencies for support.
Main Responsibilities
You will be supporting the Advanced Practitioners within the team to make Safeguarding Threshold Decisions as per Section 42 Care Act 2014.
You will be doing this by:
* Gathering essential information as directed by the Advanced Practitioner from a range of individuals including adults with care and support needs, members of the public and professionals.
* Providing professional telephone referral and signposting when appropriate to do so.
* Accurately managing safeguarding data, information and ensuring it is recorded correctly within Staffordshire County Council Systems.
* Ensuring appropriate checks are undertaken in respect of historical information held before a decision is reached, through use of different different systems that you will have access to.
* Providing accurate feedback to the Advanced Practitioner in a timely manner.
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll have:
* a passion and commitment to working with other agencies to achieve the best possible outcome relating to adults with care and support needs who are at risk of abuse or neglect
* ability to be a good team player as well as have an ability to work on your own with the support of your supervisor.
* the ability to prioritise your workload as well as being flexible to meet demands of a high pressured service.
* ability to be able to communicate effectively with a range of professionals, partners, members of the public and adults with care and support needs.

You will be required to have some office presence working closely with the team and partners but will also have an element of home working.
