Overview
Use your clinical experience to work with people who have a diverse range of health conditions, to gain a clear understanding of how their challenges and the ways their disability affects them impacts their daily life. This role involves working in an office style environment and at home to complete detailed, meaningful and respectful assessments over the telephone, video or face-to-face. You will interpret medical evidence and gather your findings into a comprehensive report to support the decision-making process by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Responsibilities
* Conduct assessments in a mix of remote and in-person settings (telephone, video, or face-to-face) in office or home environments.
* Interpret medical evidence and record findings in a comprehensive report to support DWP decision-making (Personal Independence Payment – PIP).
* Work autonomously to assess claimants applying for the PIP benefit as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS).
* Contribute to a fair and thorough assessment process with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions.
* Participate in an in-depth, fully paid training programme; role counts toward clinical hours to maintain registration.
Qualifications / Requirements
* At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
* Qualified Occupational Therapist.
* Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and IT competency is essential.
