Responsibilities
* Work with the Supportive and Palliative Care team at Southampton General Hospital to provide symptom control advice and support to patients in the acute hospital.
* Attend and contribute to daily handover and team discussions.
* Review patients referred to the team across the hospital, initially with a senior colleague and eventually independently for new and follow-up patients.
Training and Development
* Have an educational framework equivalent to training grade doctors.
* Be assigned a named educational supervisor at the start of the post.

Qualifications
* Minimum of 6 years of specialty training.
* Hold relevant higher specialty exam(s) (e.g., FRCP, FRCA, FRCS).
* Possess a portfolio evidencing progression in line with the curriculum for the speciality (similar to a deanery trainee).
Salary and Benefits
Salary is based on experience and skills and is set at the nodal pay point for the grade, with additional remuneration for hours worked beyond the standard schedule, including weekend allowance and enhanced pay where applicable. Staff receive a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), a generous pension scheme, and access to NHS and other discounts.
