Location: Hybrid, Buckinghamshire (occasional in-person meetings)
Time commitment: Approx. 2–5 hours/month | Voluntary (reasonable expenses reimbursed)

RSPCA Buckinghamshire South is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our Board of Trustees. We’re particularly keen to hear from people with experience in:
* Finance, with the opportunity to become Treasurer
* Legal and Compliance
* Human Resources (HR)
* Health & Safety (H&S), Privacy and GDPR
* IT, Data Protection and Privacy
* Governance / Charity Secretary
As a trustee, you will help steer the strategic direction of the branch, ensure sound governance, and support the operational team in delivering our mission to prevent cruelty, promote kindness, and alleviate the suffering of animals.
What You’ll Do
* Provide strategic guidance and oversight to our local RSPCA operations.
* Support compliance with charity law and regulatory standards.
* Champion good governance, safeguarding, and ethical leadership.
* Support staff and volunteers with professional insight and advice.
* Act as an ambassador for the charity and its work.
Specialist Areas We’re Looking For
Treasurer (Finance)
* Lead on financial oversight, reporting, and budget monitoring.
* Present financial updates to the board and support fundraising strategy.
Legal
* Provide guidance on contracts, regulatory compliance, and charity law.
Human Resources
* Support to develop a people strategy.
* Support with employment practices, volunteer policies, and staff wellbeing.
Health & Safety
* Advise on health and safety obligations, training, and risk assessments.
IT, Data Protection & Privacy
* Advise on digital systems, cybersecurity, GDPR, and privacy compliance.
Secretary
* Maintain accurate board records and help coordinate governance procedures.
Who We're Looking For:
* Passion for animal welfare and community service.
* Professional expertise in one of the above areas.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Previous board experience, welcome but not essential.
