We are seeking a passionate and skilled Children's Occupational Therapist, band 6 to join our dynamic Children’s Integrated Therapy Team, based in Salisbury, as part of HCRG Care Group’s integrated services in Wiltshire. In this autonomous role, you will manage a complex caseload of children (ages 0-19) with a range of varied and complex needs. This position involves specialist assessment, treatment, and management of children, working across different community settings, including schools, nurseries, clinics, and client homes across Wiltshire. Develop and deliver tailored therapeutic interventions for children with complex needs, ensuring a holistic approach to care that respects cultural and linguistic differences. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with professional standards and department requirements. Provide clinical and peer supervision, contributing to the development and advancement of the therapy team. Work closely with families, offering support and guidance, including emotional support as they navigate the challenges of their child's condition. Ensure children’s welfare is safeguarded, following local policies and procedures to protect them from harm. Take a proactive role in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to Education, Health, and Care Plans, Individualized Support Plans, and legal proceedings when necessary. Evaluate progress and adapt treatment plans to ensure effective outcomes, providing appropriate discharge planning when needed. Support junior staff and contribute to the overall operational and administrative management of the service. Engage in professional development through supervision, training, and active participation in audits, research, and evidence-based practice. For a full list of responsibilities please see attached job description The Ideal Candidate Degree/diploma equivalent HCPC registration 2 years Post grad Occupational Therapy experience Work experience with children in the wider setting Able to act independently and on own initiative but recognise limitations. Have strong problem solving/analytical skills Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology and relevant paediatric conditions Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Ability to develop a detailed knowledge of specialised therapy equipment, and the ability to carry out demonstrations, maintenance and safety checks Be able to work with children and families and adapt their style and delivery according to the needs of the individual Be able to communicate clearly, directly, openly and honestly with services users and colleagues Possess a valid UK driving license and have access to a car in order to carry out duties of the post For a full list of responsibilities please see attached job description About The Company We change lives by transforming health and care.
