Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join Mignot Memorial Hospital in Alderney on a three-month locum contract. This role offers the chance to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive, close-knit healthcare setting while enjoying the benefits of island life. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing care, ensuring safe and effective practice from admission through to discharge.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess, develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans in line with best practice guidelines
* Deliver high standards of evidence-based nursing care across a varied patient caseload
* Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in patients’ conditions, escalating concerns when necessary
* Support and guide colleagues to ensure care is delivered in accordance with agreed care plans
* Promote health and wellbeing by educating and supporting patients and their families or carers
* Maintain accurate, clear and contemporaneous patient records in both electronic and paper formats
* Adhere to safeguarding responsibilities, policies and professional standards
Person SpecificationEssential
* Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration
* Experience working at Band 5 level or equivalent
* Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
* Ability to work both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
* Experience in community or small hospital settings
* Evidence of continued professional development
