Registered Nurse - Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
30hrs a week 12 month fixed term contract.
We are looking for a Staff Nurse to join the Same Day Emergency Care department.
Responsibilities
* Participate in the rapid clinical assessment of acute medical patients.
* Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate care and assist in coordination of patient’s journey to minimise waits, delays and avoidable admissions.
* Maintain accurate, legible, contemporaneous records of care given.
* Ensure all documentation is completed and record keeping standards upheld.
* Ensure patients receive high standards of care.
* Evaluate clinical care and act upon outcomes of evaluation.
* Ensure equipment is safe for use and report failures as per protocols.
* Keep up to date with clinical developments and standards, e.g., NICE guidance.
* Maintain portfolio of evidence of clinical skills and competency‑based assessments required by the NMC.
* Work autonomously within agreed clinical guidelines.
* Receive and manage sensitive patient information, including history and sensitive issues.
* Collaborate with staff across the Trust to ensure high standard of care.
* Assist in delivering bad news as agreed with clinicians.
