What You’ll Be Doing
As a Principal Building Inspector, you’ll:
* Lead on inspections and ensure compliance across a varied caseload
* Support and mentor colleagues, sharing your technical knowledge and experience
* Take the lead on enforcement and investigations
* Respond to dangerous structures and ensure public safety
* Build strong relationships with developers, architects, and the wider community
* Play a key role in driving innovation and continuous improvement across the service
* Contribute to strategic decision-making and help shape policy and practice
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
* A confident, experienced professional with at least 5 years in building control
* Registered at Class 2D with the Building Safety Regulator
* A chartered member of a relevant professional body (e.g. CABE, CIOB)
* Technically strong, with a good understanding of legislation
* Flexible, proactive, and a great team player
* Committed to high standards and passionate about making a positive impact
* Ready to take the next step in their career and lead by example

* Competitive salary up to £60,994 per annum, including market supplement and car use allowance
