Audit Assistant Manager

THE ROLE
1. Manage a varied client portfolio for including entities in the following sectors: Technology, Health Care, Construction, Manufacturing and Charities. Clients range from corporate clients, owner managed businesses, and group entities.
2. Work closely with Responsible Individuals and audit managers, reviewing the work of junior staff prior to overall RI review, resolving queries wherever possible and providing constructive feedback.
3. Lead own audits with minimal support.
4. Manage and direct the audit process taking responsibility for planning and co-ordinating the work.
5. Liaise with clients to develop an understanding of the client’s industry and the general business/economic regulatory environment.
6. Guide the team in designing tests to the ensure adequacy of controls/identify weaknesses in systems and make recommendations to clients.
7. Develop less experienced staff, providing on the job training and assist in their professional development.
8. Liaise directly with clients, maintaining and building relationships to deliver a service that exceeds clients’ expectations.
9. Draft/review audit completion reports.
10. Take responsibility for your own workload, including timely completion of audit work, ensuring work is completed within budget.
11. Prepare statutory accounts and draft corporation tax computations.
ABOUT YOU
12. Qualified ACCA/ICAS or equivalent
13. At least 3-4 years’ experience within audit, of which 1 year at a supervisory level
14. People management experience
15. Strong work ethic with commitment to deliver first class service
16. Ability to work on own initiative
17. Strong time management and organisational skills
18. Excellent technical knowledge and IT skills
19. Strong communication skills both oral and written
20. Can demonstrate a track record of success working within teams
