A global distributor of speciality products who provide bespoke technical solutions to a wide range of industries is currently looking for a commercial Purchasing Manager. Ideally, you will have experience working for, or with, an established distributor or distribution network.
BASIC SALARY: Competitive depending on experience.

Location: Midlands – office based role predominantly at our Warwickshire site.
Commutable Locations: Warwick, Redditch, Worcester, Cheltenham, Coventry, Birmingham.
Purchasing Manager : Adhesives / Automotive
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and oversee 3 existing purchasing staff across the UK.
* Oversee total UK and European spend (GBP 25 million total operating).
* Drive improved commercial terms across supplier base including pricing, rebates, MOQs and payment terms.
* Assess how to get best value from current procurement relationships (500 active, ~20 main partners) and, where needed, rationalise the supplier portfolio.
Requirements
* Qualified procurement specialist holding either CIPs/MCIPs or equivalent.
* Experience in a technical B2B environment (Chemical, Adhesives, Coatings, Paints, Resins, Abrasives).
* Experience working for a distributor or business that sells through established distribution networks.
* Strong commercial instincts with confidence to challenge suppliers.
* Comfortable with simplicity; new processes should be efficient, not overly complex.
* Good understanding of inventory, supply chain and shelf‑life considerations (over 2000 SKUs).
* Hands‑on approach, willing to make hard decisions and shoulder their consequences.
* Strong‑willed, commercial, and confident with experience in a change/growth environment.
