An award-winning Building & Civil Engineering contractor based in Co. Down has a new opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team. The company has recently expanded into new markets and business sectors, particularly in infrastructure and specialist areas, gaining a reputation as a leading and reputable contractor delivering quality solutions to its diverse customer base.
Responsibilities
1. Provide commercial support to the project team, maintaining commercial information and ensuring contractual compliance.
2. Liaise with customer representatives and third parties on commercial issues, including variations, claims, and additional payments.
3. Report to the Commercial Manager with responsibilities such as:
1. Ensuring accurate and timely cost and value reporting at project and business unit levels.
2. Maintaining accurate cash flow reports.
3. Carrying out cost management and forecasting.
4. Updating monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans, and managing commercial performance and strategy.
5. Ensuring subcontractors agree to appropriate terms and conditions, with risks identified.
6. Engaging the supply chain with proper contract terms.
7. Fostering good client relationships.
8. Managing subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting.
9. Facilitating effective interaction between the commercial and operational site teams.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal Quantity Surveyor will have:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a QS role.
* A degree in Quantity Surveying.
* Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract (NEC3 or NEC4).
* Knowledge of current Construction Law.
