Position: Children’s Care Home Manager Location: Chesterfield Salary: £40k DOE Role: Temporary until August 31st Mayfield Recruitment are currently looking for an Experienced Children’s Care Home Manager in the Chesterfield area on a permanent basis. The position the Experienced Children’s Care Home Manager will need a clear understanding of Children in Social Care and the candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience and hold their Level 5 in Health and Social Care and Young Peoples Residential Management as well as BSL. Responsibilities for the Children’s Care Home Manager • Managing the residential home on a day to day basis, ensuring it is compliant in meeting all relevant legislative and contractual • To have experience of working with Ofsted and their requirements. • Ensure the protection and safeguard the wellbeing of the young people • Interpreting and implementing changes in legislation relating to occupancy • Supporting children and young people with moderate physical disabilities and additional complex needs. • Identifying resourcing needs and the ongoing selection, training and development of staff • Building and creating mutual trust and respect with young people in order that they respond and react appropriately to information and advice. • Providing care and support to the children and young people to encompass all physical psychological, emotional, spiritual and social needs of children and young people. • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate resident care, including medication administration and treatment plans. • Maintain accurate records of resident care and staff performance for auditing purposes Skills needed for the Children’s Care Home Manager • Have QCF Level 5 • Strong background in senior care management is highly desirable. • Have an awareness of multi-sensory and complex needs. • Excellent leadership abilities with prior supervising experience in a healthcare environment. • Knowledge of medication administration protocols and care plan development is required. • A compassionate approach to caregiving with a commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life. • A full UK Driving License is preferred to support with school runs and activities
