About the Role
We are recruiting for a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Preston on a full-time basis. This role involves working with students with a range of Special Educational Needs, delivering high-quality, tailored education that supports both academic and personal development.You will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN
Support students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, adapting teaching strategies as required
Develop and implement individual learning plans (EHCPs where applicable)
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and engagement
Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, parents/carers, and external professionals
Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using a nurturing and patient approachThe Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Have experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs, ideally within a secondary setting
Demonstrate strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
Be adaptable, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education
Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and SEN best practice
