About the role
Supporting the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors – ensuring value for money, maximizing returns on budgets, and setting up pathfinder programmes that embed best practice.
Key responsibilities
* Oversee the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors.
* Set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long‑term collaborative partnership arrangements.
* Provide country‑wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community.
* Develop expert knowledge on contractual and commercial interpretations within a high‑performing team.
* Participate in incident response duties when required.
Qualifications
* Essential education: A‑Level, Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
* Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Commercial acumen – ability to analyse business situations, take proportionate risks, make informed decisions and deliver value for money.
* Administration skills – organisation, minutes, report drafting.
* Willingness to undertake long‑term professional qualifications (e.g., NEC, CIPS).
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
* Desired: Degree or equivalent professional qualification; professional body membership (ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, RICS); formal contract management training.
