NHS Grampian invites applications for the post of Consultant in Occupational Medicine based within NHS Grampian's Occupational Health Service, GO Health Services. The post is based on the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary site. NHS Grampian provides healthcare services across North-East Scotland, serving over half a million people in Aberdeenshire, Moray and Aberdeen City regions.
Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Consultant to lead and support our Occupational Health Team. This role involves providing expert advice on Occupational Health Service (OHS) matters and supporting a safe working environment for NHS Grampian employees. The OHS is a modern, progressive multidisciplinary service with both NHS staff and external work on a commercial basis with other employers and subcontracts. The service is SEQOHS accredited and strong emphasis is placed on quality improvement.
Responsibilities
* Manage referrals and self-referrals
* Conduct health surveillance and provide ill health retirement advice
* Perform post‑job offer health assessments
* Provide expert advice on OHS matters
* Contribute to a safe working environment and support health and safety requirements
* Support development and teaching within a strong link to universities; clinical research is encouraged
Qualifications and Experience
* Full GMC registration with licence to practise; licence must be in place prior to starting
* Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register; or possess CESR / CESR (CP)
* Applicants trained in the UK should provide evidence as above; those not on the Specialist Register may be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) with an application to obtain CESR / CESR (CP) while in locum employment
