Opened to visitors as a National Trust property in 1990, it welcomes an average of 26,500 – 28,500 visitors per year. Visitors can climb 76 steps up the tower, visit the Engine Room and experience a 1950s trainee lighthouse keeper’s cottage, two more of which have been converted to holiday cottages. The Lighthouse Café (free entry) serves eat-in or takeaway options. Outside, the Foghorn Field picnic and play area and wildlife gardens are found within the light house’s white walls. The lighthouse sits at the southern end of The Leas, two and a half miles of magnesian limestone cliffs, rocky foreshore and coastal grassland. Internally, you'll be known as a 'Business Services Co-Ordinator (place based)'.If you’re brilliant at organisation and creating order, and you love working with people, upholding high standards in service and presentation, then this could be the role for you. This role would be ideal for someone looking to build experience in the field or seeking a secondment opportunity. Salary: £22,089.60 per annum pro rata (based on full-time equivalent salary of £27,612 per annum)Working Pattern: You will work 30 hours per week. The substantive postholder currently works these hours across four full days (Monday to Thursday), but this is flexible and can be spread across five days if preferred. Weekend and bank holiday working will also be required to support duty management.Contract Duration: This is a fixed term contract due to end when the postholder returns to the role.
