Senior Solution Engineer - m/f/d
What does a successful Senior Solution Engineer do?
The Solution Engineer works within the client facing technology team to ensure the timely, quality delivery of Dovetail reference solutions, product enhancements and customizations to Dovetail clients. Under the direction of a Solution Architect, you will support and advise clients during the full implementation lifecycle. This work includes advising and guiding the deployment, configuration, and integration and testing of the Dovetail Solution in Client test environments. In addition, you will have the opportunity to produce high-level design and estimation work for new functionality as assigned. There is a frequent liaison across the business, but specifically with business analysts, developers, and release management.
What you will do:
1. Advise on our technical implementation approach and help rationalise software architecture choices.
2. Work with Solutions Architect to shape solution during definition stage.
3. Support deployment and configuration efforts with our clients (code merging, continuous integration).
4. Provide technical implementation support during different test stages.
5. Perform some development, code reviews and analysis of existing code.
6. Write functional tests using Dovetail’s proprietary framework.
7. Provide production support and resolve issues when required.
8. Support Solutions Architect in pre-sales support and customer presentations.
What you will need to have:
9. BSc/MSc education.
10. 6-8 years experience in hands on Java development role with ability to analyse existing Java code.
11. 2+ years experience in core Java ; Multi-threading, transaction management, EJBs, WebServices, JMS/MQ.
12. 2+ years experience in application deployment with application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss) and scripted tools (ant, maven) and IDE's (Eclipse, IntelliJ).
13. 1+ years Oracle or other RDBMS experience.
14. 1+ years’ experience in a client facing/implementation role.
15. Project/implementation life-cycle experience covering design, configuration, coding, testing, implementation and documentation.
16. Flexibility to some travel may be required to client sites across globally to support releases and to provide client support.
