Queen Mary Students’ Union represents and supports over 30,000 students and around 4,500 staff who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London. The Students’ Union operates sport & fitness facilities across the QMUL estate that are accessed by students & staff, as well as members of the public, with the flagship facility being Qmotion Sport & Fitness Centre. The provision of sport & fitness facilities and services are aimed at:

* Generating income for the Students Union whilst operating in an ethical and sustainable manner.
This exciting role will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Qmotion General Manager with the successful operation and development of the Sport & Fitness services and facilities. The Fitness Manager will provide leadership, training, and support to the fitness instructors, maximise operational efficiency of the Qmotion fitness area in line with the aims of the organisation, whilst also coordinating and developing Qmotion gym services ensuring that participation and satisfaction levels are high.
You should be an approachable leader who is committed to the values of the organisation, being a safe, friendly environment with the student experience at its core. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people. Experience of working within a sporting and a student environment is essential. Candidates must have the ability to work well under pressure, prioritise a varied workload, and meet deadlines.
This is a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent position. The starting salary will be £32,804 per annum pro-rata, inclusive of the London Allowance, with annual raises by one point as set out in the QMUL Pay and Grading Structure.
