Job Overview
We are seeking a confident, bubbly experienced Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. You will be responsible for managing, advising and leading the end-to-end accounts payable function as well as overseeing the management accounting function for AR Entertainments Ltd.
Key responsibilities
AR Wholesale Ltd – Accounts Payable
· Help & guide the accounts payable team with invoice processing, payment scheduling, and supplier statement reconciliations. Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial operations.
· Help to enhance financial reporting and strengthen internal controls with weekly/month end accounts payable reviews including GRNI report, Payments on account, overage transactions.
· Investigate and resolve queries from suppliers promptly whilst liaising with the Purchasing department to focus on building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with suppliers.
* Review & schedule supplier payment runs in line with cash flow and due dates.
* Maintain strong internal controls and regularly review policies and procedures for efficiency
* Identify automation opportunities and support the implementation of new finance technologies
* Monitor Accounts payable mailbox ensuring emails are responded to each day both internally & externally.
AR Entertainments Ltd
· Oversee and complete Monthly management accounts for AR Entertainments.
· Oversee AR Entertainments Debtor and creditors ledger.
· Maintain asset register, additions, disposals, asset verification, depreciation, reconciliations
· Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments
· Quarterly VAT return.
· Bank Reconciliation
· Review and reconcile all General Ledger and Balance sheet items.
· Sales/profit reconciliations.
· Liaise with Operations manager and accounts team to collate reports/information on financial/kit performance.
· Review job costings/calculators for accuracy and performance
Other
· Office for National Statistics returns
· Assist with annual audit.
· Assist the wider finance team with other adhoc duties including holiday cover.
· Balance sheet reconciliations.
· Supporting the production of management accounts.
Ideal candidate
· Fully AAT qualified as a minimum.
· Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel.
· Experience with Sage Line 50 & SAP BusinessbyDesign.
· Proven experience of working within a busy accounts function including hands-on experience of working in a senior Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role with excellent understanding of goods for resale purchase ledger.
· Be proactive, with the drive to take on a position of responsibility
· Be capable of juggling multiple priorities
· Be someone who understands the importance of accuracy in your work
· Be comfortable working to agreed deadlines
· Have excellent organisational skills ensuring your time is organised to meet the required deadlines

Salary: Depending on experience
