We are seeking an enthusiastic and values‑driven Assistant Manager to support the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred services across three supported living services in Scarborough.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced social care professional who is passionate about empowering people, developing teams, and ensuring individuals receive outstanding support that promotes independence, active citizenship, inclusion, and choice.

Working closely with the Service Manager, you will play a key role in leading and motivating colleagues, maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting service improvement, and helping create positive outcomes for the people we support.

About The Role

As Assistant Manager, you will support the day‑to‑day operational delivery of three services, working alongside colleagues to ensure the highest standards of care and support are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Service Manager to maintain compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing support colleagues through observation, feedback, and role modelling best practice.
  • Promoting person‑centred, strengths‑based support that enables individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives.
  • Supporting the development and review of care plans, risk assessments, and support documentation.
  • Assisting with rota management and staffing resources to meet the needs and aspirations of the people we support.
  • Building positive relationships with families, health professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting service improvement initiatives through monitoring performance, reviewing outcomes, and encouraging reflective practice.
  • Championing digital systems and promoting a digital‑first approach across services.
  • Supporting investigations, safeguarding processes, incident reporting, and lessons learned activities.
  • Encouraging active citizenship, community engagement, and meaningful opportunities for the people we support.

About You

  • Has experience supporting people with disabilities, autism, and/or complex needs.
  • Has supervisory or leadership experience within a social care environment.
  • Understands Social Care Legislation, Safeguarding Responsibilities, And Regulatory Requirements.
  • Is organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Has excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Can motivate, inspire, and develop others.
  • Is confident using digital systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Holds an NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and is willing to work towards NVQ Level 3 within 18 months if not already achieved.

Additional Information

This role covers three services across Scarborough.

Part‑time hours with flexibility required to support a 24/7 service.

You will be required to work two weekends in four and occasional nights as needed.

Participation in the organisation's on‑call rota will be required.
