Job Overview
Come and Join Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, where we offer a wide variety of challenging and rewarding roles within a supportive, innovative and dynamic work environment!
Due to the transformation of our Mental Health Services, we find ourselves in the enviable position of having 3 vacancies for fabulous Band 6 Community Occupational Therapists to join our lovely team within Mental Health Services for Older People, part of LPT’s Directorate of Mental Health.
We are looking for people who share our passion for working with patients over the age of 65 with functional and/or organic mental health conditions. We also work with patients under the age of 65 alongside our Young Onset Dementia Service to support their valuable diagnostic work.
We work alongside our Multi-Disciplinary colleagues to build compassionate care and wellbeing for our patients. LPT’s vision, mission and strategy is “Together we Thrive” and as an Occupational Therapy Team, this vision drives us to support our patients to thrive and achieve a sense of wellbeing.
Whilst we work closely with the MDT you are very much part of the wider Community Occupational Therapy Team too and our Service offers opportunities for induction and in-service training, and regular clinical and management supervision. We are committed to evidence-based practice and use the MOHO Framework to inform assessment and intervention. We also use other tools to support our interventions including ACDM, Talking Mats and Sensory Integration.
Working in the community means that no two days are the same and you will need to be organised, have excellent communication, time management and decision-making skills.
You will be working with patients to promote their independence, maintain skills and reduce the impact of occupational deprivation, our patient group will often have co-existing physical and mental health conditions, making our work varied and at times challenging, but above all extremely rewarding.
We ask that you hold a Full UK Driving Licence and can use your own car for work, as dependence on public transport is not suitable for this role.
If what you have read so far appeals to you, we’d love to hear from you.
