Early Help Practitioner (MASSH)

12 month Fixed term contract

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Early Help MASSH (MultiAgency Safeguarding and Support Hub) as we are recruiting for a fulltime Early Help Practitioner.

If you are looking for an energetic and dynamic working environment that brings together a wide range of professionals to ensure high quality, timely support for children, young people and families in Bury, then we would welcome an application from you.

What it's like working in our team

The Early Help MASSH is a dedicated and fast‑paced team operating at the front door of Early Help. We work closely with schools, Children’s Social Care, Health partners, the Police and the Third Sector to ensure families receive the right help at the right time. Your contribution will play a crucial role in shaping outcomes for children and families, and you will be trusted to work both independently and as part of a wider multiagency team.

The work is varied, fast paced, and sometimes challenging, with opportunities to develop creative, strength‑based and innovative solutions to meet the needs of families.

We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive candidates with knowledge and experience of delivering Early Help interventions to children (0‑19 years) and their families who require support across a range of needs. You must be able to demonstrate a patient, engaging and strength‑based approach, with a clear commitment to empowering families to make positive and sustainable change, enabling them to reach their full potential. You will work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to identify, progress and review the most appropriate support pathways at the right time.

The role involves:

* Screening and reviewing Early Help contacts and referrals
* Engaging directly with children and families to understand their needs
* Formulating proportionate and effective plans
* Working alongside multi‑agency partners to understand support needs

Normal working hours are 37 hours per week, based on the usual business hours of 08:45 to 17:00. Depending on service requirements, you may occasionally be required to work flexibly outside these hours to meet need.

Appointment may be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.

We are committed to Bury being an equal society that recognises values and embraces all people, regardless of any difference, for the skills, abilities and experiences they bring into the workforce and the wider community. Therefore we guarantee an interview for disabled people, looked‑after children/care leavers, armed forces personnel (including reservists and veterans) and carers of adults or disabled children if they meet the essential criteria.
