Part‑time Senior Mental Health Nurse – HMP Leeds
Location: HMP Leeds, a category B men’s prison, housing males aged 21+.
Working hours: 16.5 hours a week, Monday‑Friday, 8.25‑hour shifts from 1 pm to 9 pm. No weekends, no nights.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of patients' mental health needs.
* Work collaboratively with the multi‑disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health‑care plan.
* Contribute to the nursing strategy and vision by providing evidence‑based care, seeking out, listening to and acting on patient feedback to personalise care.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care, build therapeutic relationships and promote professional boundaries.
* Play an active part in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following policies and procedures, always considering safeguarding.
Qualifications
* NMC Registered.
* Experience working within mental health settings, with a developed knowledge and understanding of this patient group.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Experience working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi‑disciplinary environment.
* Ideal applicants will have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

Remuneration and Conditions
Annual salary up to £49,175 per annum FTE – depending on experience. Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK; role subject to additional vetting and security checks.
