About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Band 4 Occupational Therapy Rehabilitation Assistant Practitioner to join the team at the Colman Centre for Specialist Rehabilitation Services within Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. The post will be based in the Specialist Neurological Rehabilitation Service (Caroline House).
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Occupational Therapists on a daily basis in supporting patients with complex physical and cognitive difficulties under the direction/guidance of clinicians, mainly on the ward and in the community.
* Work as part of the multidisciplinary team providing support to Occupational Therapists by contributing to the assessment and treatment programmes for patients with a range of impairments and complex health needs.
* Engage with patients and their families under the direction of qualified therapists.
* Demonstrate physical and mental resilience, engaging in manual handling activities, personal hygiene care tasks and dealing with people who have challenging behaviours.
* Perform indirect tasks that support the patient’s care and therapy needs, such as administration tasks and management of equipment.
* Work inpatient based, with occasional driving requirements.
* Cover a 7‑day rota to meet the needs of the service.
