Join Our Team as a Residential Childcare Support Worker!
Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people? LCS is on the lookout for committed and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work full-time, with a flexible schedule that includes 35 hours per week plus sleep-in shifts.
Salary
Your hard work will be rewarded with a basic salary of £22,367.80, with the potential to earn up to £27,983.80 through sleep-in shifts.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping young people transition towards independence. Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing practical support and guidance in line with individual care plans.
* Building positive relationships with young people, staff, and professionals through effective communication.
* Supporting young people in Education, Employment, and Training, ensuring their progress is documented.
* Maintaining community links, such as educational provisions, sports centers, and youth clubs.
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* Flexibility in your availability for shift work, including evenings and weekends.
* A Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or a willingness to pursue this qualification.
* Experience working with attachment and trauma (desirable).
* Experience with challenging behavior and/or mental health issues (desirable).
* An understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care.
* A full driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable), although good public transport links are available.
* Intermediate computer skills.
Working Conditions
This role involves working on a rota basis, which may include evenings and weekends. Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the young people we support.
