About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Science Teacher to join our dynamic secondary school in Northwich. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a real difference in students' lives while working in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality science education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential involvement in Key Stage 5 depending on specialism and experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
* Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Support students' personal and academic development
* Contribute to the wider school community through extra-curricular activities
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues and participate in department meetings
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of curriculum developments and best practices
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Degree in Science or related subject (2:1 or above preferred)
* Experience teaching science at secondary level
* Strong classroom management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
* Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable Qualities
* Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
* Experience with exam board specifications (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
* Knowledge of current educational initiatives and teaching methods
* Experience with practical laboratory work and safety procedures
* Additional qualifications in education or professional development
