Purpose of the role
The General Counsel's Office (GCO) aims to "enable safely" by providing risk, regulatory, and legal advice to help the firm achieve its objectives in compliance with applicable laws and risk appetite. This role supports the Regulatory Team by ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations regarding AML/KYC, sanctions, and conflicts of interest. The team operates regionally, with this role primarily focusing on the local region but supporting all jurisdictions as needed.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Onboarding new clients and matters, including:
* Conducting money laundering checks and risk assessments to ensure AML compliance;
* Performing business intelligence searches on clients and matters;
* Verifying information provided by requesting teams;
* Building and maintaining good relationships with regional teams and the wider business;
* Handling onboarding inquiries from different teams;
* Understanding the firm's client base;
* Sharing knowledge and best practices within the team and contributing to process improvements.
Candidate Overview
You should provide excellent customer service, contribute positively to the team, and build the firm's business. You need strong administrative, IT, organizational, and interpersonal skills, manage your workload proactively, and perform tasks promptly. Ideally, candidates will have:
