5-D Systems, a KRATOS Company, is seeking a highly motivated candidate to support the design and analysis of turbomachinery power generation components and electrical power and communications subsystems of unmanned air vehicle propulsion systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering teams, industry primes, and DoD customers to research, develop, test, and document component and hardware improvements, performance testing, and advanced engineering problem-solving activities across multiple programs.
Key responsibilities of the Electrical Systems Engineer include, but are not limited to:
1. Providing technical leadership throughout all phases of the development lifecycle.
2. Designing innovative solutions to enhance turbine-generated electrical power, electronic components, software, engine accessories, and turbine engine-powered systems.
3. Analyzing air vehicle electrical system requirements, capacity, power budgets, component costs, and project needs to support planning and systems engineering.
4. Performing detailed calculations for design, manufacturing, testing, and installation specifications.
5. Overseeing third-party design, assembly, and testing to ensure compliance with requirements.
6. Developing validation and acceptance testing procedures for electronic equipment, including operation and maintainability concepts.
7. Inspecting electronic equipment and systems to ensure they meet standards and requirements.
8. Evaluating systems, troubleshooting, and recommending repairs or design modifications.
9. Planning and developing applications and modifications to improve electronic properties in parts and systems.
10. Creating and delivering technical presentations for design reviews and system engineering reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR) both internally and externally.
11. Communicating effectively with stakeholders.
