We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised, friendly and reliable School Administrator. You will need excellent IT, interpersonal and literacy skills, possess confidence and initiative and a willingness to contribute to the continued improvement of the school. Previous school office experience and experience of using different IT systems would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
Role Overview
As a School Administrator, you will be part of a team ensuring the smooth running of the
school office ensuring that that statutory processes and student data systems run
seamlessly. You will play a pivotal role in supporting student welfare through the diligent
management of EHCPs and attendance tracking and DFE assessments.
Key Responsibilities
EHCP Management: Lead the administrative lifecycle of Education Health Care
Plans (EHCPs), including coordinating annual reviews, liaising with local
authorities, and ensuring statutory compliance.
Admissions & Transitions: Manage the school’s admissions process for new
pupils, from initial inquiries to the secure transfer of student files.
Data & Assessment: Use Management Information Systems (MIS) to maintain
accurate pupil records and generate accurate data reports. Administer DfE
assessments.
Attendance Tracking: Provide detailed attendance reporting to the school’s
Senior Leadership Team to support pupil wellbeing.
Office Operations: Prioritize diverse workloads to ensure office systems operate
efficiently for the smooth running of the office.
Person Specification
Education: Minimum GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths, and NVQ level 2 or equivilant.
Experience: Administrative experience within a school setting is desirable,
including familiarity with school MIS.
Technical Skills: Good knowledge of Google Workspace or Microsoft Office and
a working knowledge of modern office management systems.
Communication: Good verbal and written skills, with the ability to communicate
sensitively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
Personal Attributes: A 'can do' attitude with the flexibility to multi-task under
pressure while maintaining a professional and friendly manner.
Safeguarding: A proactive commitment to safeguarding and promoting the
welfare of children.
