We are looking for an experienced and people-focused General Manager to lead operations at Mayford Grange Retirement Village. This is a part-time leadership role responsible for ensuring the village operates to a high standard while delivering an excellent resident experience.
You will oversee day-to-day operations, build strong relationships with residents and the local community, and ensure the village runs efficiently, safely and profitably. As the leader on site, you will drive a welcoming community environment, maintain high hospitality standards and ensure services meet the evolving needs of residents.
This role is ideal for someone with strong operational leadership experience who enjoys working closely with residents, managing a small team and delivering a high-quality service in a community setting.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Lead the day-to-day operations of the village, ensuring services are delivered to a high standard.
* Implement the village business plan and operational priorities aligned with Retirement Villages Group strategy.
* Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency and resident satisfaction.
* Manage village budgets and oversee revenue streams including property sales, rentals and services.
Resident Experience & Hospitality
* Build strong relationships with residents and ensure an excellent customer experience.
* Support a vibrant village community by encouraging engagement, wellbeing activities and local connections.
* Maintain high hospitality and service standards across the village.
Facilities & Safety
* Oversee property management and maintenance to ensure the village remains safe, compliant and well maintained.
* Promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
Team Leadership
* Lead and support a small on-site team, setting clear priorities and expectations.
* Foster a positive, inclusive culture aligned with RVG’s values.
* Support team development, performance and continuous improvement.
About You
* 3–6 years’ experience in a general management or operational leadership role.
* Strong commercial awareness and experience managing budgets or operational performance.
* Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
* A proactive and hands-on leadership style suited to a small, community-based environment.
* Experience in hospitality, property, facilities, or community-focused environments is advantageous.
