The PMO officer plays a key role in providing project governance, performance assurance, and controls across the project lifecycle. The role supports project and senior leadership teams by maintaining integrated schedules, tracking cost and performance, delivering robust reporting, and continuously improving PMO processes, tools, and ways of working.
Job Description
* Collect, analyse, and interpret performance data to produce clear, accurate reports for senior stakeholders.
* Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics to support governance and assurance.
* Identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement, escalating insights where appropriate.
* Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support effective information flow and decision-making.
* Provide structured programme support to project teams and senior leaders.
* Produce high quality documentation including Excel models, PowerPoint packs, Word documents, and OneNote records.
* Lead the development and maintenance of PMO processes, templates, standards, and tools to support consistent delivery.
* Ensure alignment with project governance requirements and reporting cycles.
* Support risk and opportunity management activities, maintaining logs and ensuring mitigation actions are tracked.
* Proactively develop and implement improvement actions to address delivery challenges and enhance efficiency.
* Support the management of project phases by monitoring progress, key milestones, and delivery performance.
Qualifications
* Experience working in a PMO, project controls, or programme support role within a project‑based environment.
* Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Project.
* Ideally experience with Integrated schedules (IMS), Change control, Forecasting and variance analysis, KPI development and performance reporting, Risk & opportunity management.
* Advanced skills in MS Excel, with strong PowerPoint and Word capability.
* Strong analytical, organisational, and stakeholder communication skills.
* Experience working on large, complex infrastructure or utility programmes.
* Exposure to programme‑level governance and reporting frameworks.
* Continuous improvement mindset with experience improving PMO processes or tools.
Additional Information
This role will be based across both our offices in Warrington and Mold (Flintshire). Presence will be required across both.
