Civil Engineer

Our client, a respected engineering consultancy based in Colchester, is seeking a Civil Design Engineer with a minimum of two years' UK-based design experience to join their growing infrastructure team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career professional looking to broaden their technical expertise whilst contributing to a wide variety of civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will work independently on smaller schemes and play a key role within larger multidisciplinary teams under the guidance of senior engineers and directors.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to and manage civil design projects across residential, education, urban regeneration, and public realm sectors
Prepare flood risk assessments and develop sustainable drainage strategies (SuDS)
Produce detailed designs for earthworks, highways, and infrastructure
Support applications and agreements including S104, S106, S38, S278, and build-over consents
Collaborate with structural teams on integrated developments
Requirements:
Proficient in AutoCAD, Civils 3D, PDS, and MicroDrainage (Windes)
Sound knowledge of UK standards and design regulations
Comfortable managing project deadlines and client expectations
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
You will enjoy working on a diverse project portfolio with the opportunity to develop specialist expertise and will gain supportive mentoring through a structured ICE-accredited training scheme.
