Overview
Area Support Officer role at OCS. The Area Support Officer provides flexible and reliable support across various client sites within a designated area, ensuring high standards of security and customer service are consistently delivered. This role suits someone adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and security across diverse environments.
Days of Working
Variable shifts dependent upon business needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide short- and long-term cover for absences, vacancies, or special events at client sites.
* Deliver high-quality security services, including:
* Access and egress control
* Patrolling and monitoring premises to ensure safety
* Conducting thorough searches of individuals and vehicles where required
* Responding promptly to alarms and incidents
* Performing detailed incident reporting with accurate documentation submitted on time
* Operate and monitor security equipment such as CCTV, access control systems, and alarm systems
* Ensure compliance with site-specific procedures and company policies
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement
* Build positive relationships with clients, staff, and visitors by providing professional support and assistance
* Act as the main point of contact for security concerns at the assigned site during shifts
* Escalate and resolve client issues appropriately
Support Functions
* Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to new security personnel as required
* Adapt quickly to site-specific protocols and expectations, maintaining professionalism in diverse settings
* Be flexible and responsive to change at short notice
About You
* Essential Requirements
* Valid SIA Licence – Door Supervisor (DS) or Security Guard (SG) required
* Full UK Driving Licence with access to a reliable vehicle
* Proven experience in a security role with knowledge of security operations and best practices
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for incident reporting and client interactions
* Exceptional adaptability and flexibility to cover various shifts, locations, and environments
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm in emergencies
