Edgar Wood Academy is seeking a passionate and dynamic Head of PE and Whole School Enrichment (Female) to join our growing school community. You will lead a high-performing PE department and take strategic responsibility for designing and coordinating a vibrant enrichment programme that fosters student development beyond the classroom. Please note: This post is open to female applicants only, as the role requires delivering aspects of the PE curriculum to female students and providing pastoral care in settings where gender-specific provision is a business necessity. What you ll do: Lead the PE department with vision and purpose, delivering a broad and inclusive curriculum across KS3 and KS4 (currently including OCR Cambridge National in Sport Science). Champion a whole-school enrichment offer that builds character, develops cultural capital, and broadens student horizons. Inspire students to embrace healthy, active lifestyles and to embody our school values: Resilience, Empathy, Responsibility, and Respect. Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to enrich student experiences, both within and beyond the sports field. What we re looking for: A qualified teacher with proven success in teaching PE at KS3 and KS4. Experience in leading vocational qualifications and whole-school enrichment initiatives.
