Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Dundee
Grade: 11
Responsibilities
* Lead electro/mechanical development activities, providing estimates, manufacturing options etc.
* Experience in electro/mechanical product design and working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacturers.
* Working with Industrial design functions to deliver designs as conceived and within the commercial goals.
* Proven track record delivering cost effective designs to specification and engineering standards.
* Supplier engagement and change management.
* Lead design validation via design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing and problem correction (CLCA).
* Release work products using the approved system with all relevant documentation required to implement design changes.
Experience
* A Degree in Electro/Mechanical Engineering (Hons 2:1 or better).
* Minimum 7 years of related experience.
* Strong understanding of Electro/Mechanical design principles and technologies.
* Clear documentation understanding and ability to work solely on problems as well as within a team environment.
* Must be willing to work to and set high work standards and be a good communicator.
* Highly proficient in CAD (Pro/E or Solidworks preferred).
* FMEA experience.
* Module/Platforming/Product architectures.
* Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
* Work with Suppliers throughout project lifecycle.
