Early Years Teaching Assistant
Milk Education are recruiting for a full time Early Years Teaching Assistant which is required for an Early Years provision at a Primary School in North Tyneside. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic practitioner to join a nurturing setting supporting children aged 2–4 years.
The provision offers morning (8:30am–11:30am), afternoon (12:30pm–3:30pm) and full-day (8:30am–3:30pm) sessions. The provision places strong emphasis on outdoor learning, child-led exploration and developing resilient, independent learners. Early reading is a key priority, with a strong focus on sharing high-quality texts and using the “Over and Over” storytelling approach. The school also uses Seesaw to share children’s learning with parents and carers.
Early Years Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
1. Support teaching and learning across the EYFS provision
2. Promote outdoor learning and child-led exploration
3. Assist with observations and assessment
4. Support children’s communication, language and early literacy
5. Help maintain a safe, engaging and inclusive environment
6. Build positive relationships with children, staff and families
Essential Requirements:
7. Minimum Level 2 Early Years qualification
8. Experience working with children aged 2–4 years
9. Good understanding of the EYFS framework
10. Experience working with children in the last 2 years
11. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing
