Job Description: Academy Inclusion Support Assistant - Primary & Secondary Academy (Barnet) A well-established Academy in Barnet (Edgware area) is seeking dedicated and compassionate support staff to work across its Primary and Sixth Form settings, with a strong focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN) support. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference to young people's lives and who have experience supporting children and young people with additional needs. Who We're Looking For We welcome applications from: Youth Workers Counsellors and Mentors Community Support Workers Carers and Care Workers Former Teaching Assistants / Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) SEN Support Staff with school-based experience Psychology or Social Work graduates with SEN experience Requirements Minimum 6 months' experience working with children or young people Experience or interest in supporting SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, sensory needs, etc.) Strong communication skills, patience, and emotional awareness Must hold a DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply) Based in Barnet or willing to travel to the area Available at least 3 days per week (5 days preferred) during school hours Role Overview Full-time, long-term positions available Working hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm Based across Primary and Secondary sites within the Academy Immediate starts and September placements available Your Responsibilities Providing 1:1 and small group SEN support Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, sensory and emotional regulation needs Helping pupils engage positively in learning and school life Using strategies to manage behaviour, build confidence, and encourage independence Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams Supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom (including calm/sensory spaces and outdoor learning) Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for pupils What We Offer Competitive daily rates Long-term, stable SEN-focused roles Opportunities across both Primary and Secondary phases Supportive school environment within a forward-thinking Academy Fast and efficient registration process Ongoing guidance and support from your consultant
