Who You Are You are a Property Lawyer with the ability to conduct complex and routine conveyancing work. You are an admitted Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with the right or approaching the right of audience in all Proceedings in the County Court. You bring recent experience of advocacy, both in County and potentially in Magistrates' Court, dealing with all aspects of commercial and residential property work. A solid understanding of Housing law, Civil Court Procedures, and recent relevant legislation is essential. You possess excellent communication skills, with a positive, “can-do” attitude, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering results and customer care. What the job involves As a Property Lawyer, you will be part of the Housing and Property Team, reporting to the Principal Lawyer. You'll engage in complex and large acquisitions and disposals including those under compulsory purchase. You will handle conveyancing aspects of sales to Council tenants and all related legal agreements with Housing Associations. Your responsibilities include overseeing diverse projects, preparing for inquiries, and ensuring communication with all relevant parties regarding displaced tenants and compensation claims. Your tasks will also involve serving notices under the Landlord and Tenant Act and appearing for the Council in courts and tribunals. You get to contribute to service development, cost management and operational improvement. This hybrid role requires two days in the office per week.
