Overview
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with their daily living activities, ensuring they maintain their independence and quality of life. This position requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to providing high-quality care. You will work closely with clients in their homes or care homes, assisting them with personal care tasks and following care plans tailored to their specific needs.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a compassionate, kind and caring individual to support a man with accessing the community and managing day to day life. This client has an acquired brain injury, so experience with this and or challenging behaviour would be ideal.
* Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
* Support clients in mobility and daily activities, including meal preparation and light housekeeping.
* Follow individual care plans to ensure clients receive appropriate support tailored to their needs.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the supervising nurse or manager.
* Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Skills
* Proficient in English with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients and their families.
* Experience in home care or working within a care home setting is desirable.
* Ability to understand and implement care plans accurately.
* Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communicating via digital platforms.
* A valid driving license is required for transporting clients when necessary.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and provide emotional support.
